And I'll Blow Your House Down

Brighton Fringe Award winner 2023, theatre maker and unpaid carer Georgie Steele is excited to be bringing her true-life, storytelling and physical theatre show And I’ll Blow Your House Down to Cholsey Great Hall on 8 June. 

Georgie’s two sons have a degenerative muscle-wasting condition. While their health is a huge concern, what’s really difficult is dealing with the institutions that are meant to support them: endless form filling; health and safety nonsense; offers of help that don’t help. It’s like living on a permanent building site!

In response to these experiences, Georgie has conjured a playful, interactive show, an invitation to us all to recognise the huge contribution unpaid carers make to society, and to consider what kind of society we want to build for ourselves and our families. Georgie also currently facilitates storytelling projects with unpaid carers in Oxfordshire, funded by NHS England and Carers Oxfordshire.

We have invited Georgie to Cholsey Great Hall during Carers Week. This is a FREE event. Doors open at 6.30pm when you'll be offered tea and an opportunity to chat with other carers in your shared experience. The performance will begin at 8pm.
