About The Event
Fleabag is a one-woman play, written and performed by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, which premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and inspired the hit BBC TV series of the same name.
Fleabag is a rip-roaring look at some sort of woman living her sort of life. It is a monologue which follows the central character Fleabag over three days as her life unravels.
Fleabag may seem oversexed, emotionally unfiltered and self-obsessed, but that's just the tip of the iceberg. WIth family and friendships under strain and a guinea pig cafe struggling to keep afloat, Fleabag suddenly finds herself with nothing to lose.
The play won a host of awards, including two Off West End Theatre Awards, The Stage Award for Best Solo Performer and the Critics' Circle Award for Most Promising Playwright.
The hilarious, award-winning play was captured live on stage from London's West End in 2019. Phoebe Waller-Bridge has publicly stated she will never perform the show again, meaning National Theatre Live is now the ONLY way to watch this play. We're delighted to bring it to Cholsey Great Hall on 1 September.
